Training Objectives:
● To define cultural humility vs. cultural competence.
● To define key concepts and establish foundational knowledge about Relational-Cultural Therapy.
● To define examples of identities through the lens of privilege and marginalization.
● To increase and deepen self-awareness regarding clinician intersecting identities within the therapeutic relationship.
Brief Bio:
Ellery Woo, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist who transitioned into private practice in 2021 after working with undergraduate and graduate students in various college counseling centers for seven years. She provides individual therapy to clients from diverse backgrounds and also specializes in first and second - generation BIPOC and AAPI professionals seeking support for life transitions, relationships, intersectional identities, and the impact of societal trauma. Ellery utilizes an integration of Relational-Cultural Therapy, Acceptance, Commitment Therapy, somatic-based interventions, and trauma-informed approaches.
